I had a pretty good day today. Very tired, but more emotionally stable. I had been reading back through some of the older posts about surgery and recovery. I found one that said something about the funniest thing a doctor has said to you. Well, I have one.
I was seeing the head of Neurology at a local hospital. He is way up there is age. He is a nice man but I think his age is affecting his social skills. Lol
I went in for a lumbar puncture. I had to undress and put a gown on. I was sitting on the table with the gown wide open in the back. If that isn't embarrassing enough to be showing off you behind etc., He comes up to me and starts examining my back. He says....Wow, Miss Nicole, you have a very nice tan. I can see the difference in the before and after. I didn't say anything, just thought it was weird. As I thought about it later, I would have been offended if it were a younger male physician, but I chalked it up to him being older and uncomfortable. He is a wonderful man, even if he has no tact :)
Too funny! I had a surgeon that actually stood outside of the holding area and waved at me from the window in the door! He then put a scooby doo bandage on me during surgery! He had the best bed-side manner ever:)
Mindy, I agree with Carla! Even though it is easier said than done, right!? I am nervous about mine too. I have been cycling through so many different emotions each day that I feel a little crazy. Lol. I am actually looking forward to being put under, then I can stop worrying. We will both be fine!!! I am learning to meditate, it has been helping some! It is pretty easy and relaxing. You can google it. Lol. Good luck my dear, please keep me/us posted. Vent anytime!!!
