Mayfield Chiari Clinic....I've received no reply :(

I've read so many posts from other Chiarians about Mayfield and being contacted soon after dropping off their MRI's. I had my intake interview in early February and I dropped off my MRI and reports on Februrary 22nd. Nobody has contacted me. It's been 2 weeks and I haven't heard anything from them.

I called Jeremy (my case mgr) to make sure something didn't get lost. He checked my file and he said that my records show that the doctor did receive my MRI disc on February 22nd. Jeremy said he would give me a call when he finds out something. I don't know what to make of it. I don't want to call again and bug Jeremy again, but at the same time, I'm feeling like this is not normal time frames for Mayfield. Then that makes the wheels start turning in my head and I'm picturing the worst!...lol ....like a scenario where the NS got my MRI and he sees other things wrong and has to have a pow wow with the other doctors before he could even think about calling me to set up my initial appt. lol I don't know! Anyone else have this same experience? Any words of advice? Encouragement? Ugh! The waiting is just awful!

I mailed my MRI's off and did the intake with Jeremy in early May of last year. It took about two weeks before I got contacted back and then they made me an appointment for July 5. A lot of people on this board have gotten seen a lot faster so I'm not sure if it's just having do with fluctuating case loads or what. Did they say which doctor you would see?

A couple of the Drs were out of town last week or the week beforetoo so maybe that has slowed down things a bit.

Thank you Anglyn & Donna. I feel better knowing that not everyone gets a reply within the same week. I was beginning to get worried! My doctor is Dr Zucarello. Would he happen to be one of the docs that has been out all week?

I don’t know. I just know dr Tew was and another.

I saw Dr. Zucarello this week and they were "super" busy in the office. His assistant, Roberta, has been out ill also. That is probably the issue and causing delay. He was out a week or so ago.

Thank you so much for the replies!! I was feeling so worried. I had an ACTH producing pituitary tumor and sublabial transsphenoidal surgery, but my NS couldn't get it all. So I still have a tumor and I have to get yearly MRI's to "watch it." I have also had a CSF leak and intracranial hypertension. I was beginning to worry the delay might be related to possibly finding other problems with my brain in addition to the Chiari! Thank you for calming my fears!

P.S. Kyacutern, the International Stroke Conference was a couple of weeks ago in Honolulu, HI. I know Dr Zuccarello does a lot of research and treatment of stroke patients. Did he have a tan? LOL That's an AWESOME place to go to a work related conference! My last conference was in Cleveland...in the winter....AND they lost my luggage! lol

I believe he did have a little tan! LOL

I can also second that the doctors were out a few days at a conference last week as I was waiting for a surgery date. So I am sure they are playing catch up now! Hope you get a call soon!
