Does anyone know if the Cleveland Clinic can do a Cine MRI? I'm unhappy with them but they are in my backyard and feel I should give them one more shot... I'm going to call and demand to see Dr. Violette Recinos tomorrow. For some reason the clinic has never wanted to do a repeat of my 2 year old MRI. I spoke to Chiari Institute in NY and they said they saw an issue. UPMC said they need a more current MRI but they want to see me either way... Each Neuro I've saw at the clinic has been of NO help... The more I think about this the madder I get... Sorry about the rant.

They should be able to do one. You have it done in a regular MRI machine and the put a pulse ox on your finger. It so frustrating trying to find the right doctor especially when your not feeling well. You deserve to be listened to and your concerns and wishes taken seriously. Your doing the right thing in checking out several options. I hope things work out today and that you get some help. Let us know how you make out.

I had tried to see her a while back and they told me no since I was not diagnosed with Chiari... I called today and had a speech memorized and was willing to become aggressive over the phone. Once on the phone with her office I held back my speech and being aggressive. I explained that 5 neurologist at the Clinic have felt I dont have an issue since its a 3mm drop. I then told her that NY Chiari Institute felt it was an issue and so did UPMC (stretching that one since they want an up to date MRI). The next thing the scheduler said was she can see you Oct 16th. I took it even though its way out... I will wait a few days and call her office back to see if I can get a sooner apt. I'm happy I didnt have to turn into a royal prick and that they agreed to let me see her.
Violette Recinos is a NS so I'm hopping for some help from her!
Ok so I talked to my pcp this morning and he's willing to issue an MRI now I have to call Cleveland to see if they for sure do or not.
Any Dr. can order an MRI or CINE MRI. Will your PCP order it? My PCP orders most of my diagnostic tests or my NS orders them from Pittsburgh & I Live in Va. The Cleveland Clinic does have the capabilities to preform a CINE MRI. It's a Great Facility . I am sorry you are frustrated. Please know I totally understand.

I personally did not have any luck with neurologists, they weren't proactive like a NS is. The CC should absolutely do a Cine MRI...Try to get to a NS instead, they're the specialists for Chiari.
