I have had horrible neck pain for the past week and I can't seem to find any thing that helps. Almost like a horribly stiff neck. I can barely turn my head from side to side or look up or down. Every position is uncomfortable, lying down, sitting up, standing. I am trying to decide if its from Chiari or not. The pain radiates from around the C7 vertebra, so I don't think its related.
Do you guys have any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestions. Where do I get magnesium oil? I have tried Tylenol and ibuprofen and icy hot, but nothing is helping
I going to try to see my primary Monday to get some muscle relaxers
I’m scheduled for decompression surgery on January 28 so I would really like to get this to settle down asap!
Hayley, I use arnica gel (arnicare). You have to use it for a few days in a row before it starts to really work, but it helps my neck pain a great deal. I hope you feel better soon.

I found some arnica creme today! I was looking for the magnesium at the vitamin shoppe and I ran across that. I remembered reading about it on other posts so I thought I would give it a shot. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for the advice! If I’m not beginning to feel better on Monday I think I have to get in to see my local dr. Maybe he will give me a muscle relaxer or something!
