Since i was 16 i had these incidences of hearing people talking when no one was there and things that to me felt like seizures, but after much research i dubbed it to being sleep paralysis. These things seem to come and go, especially active in high stress. I havnt been stressed more than usual, but i have been getting treatment for c.diff over the past 2 months.
Anyway these issues arise mostly when I’m tired or laying down. Over the past few days I’ve had what’s best decribed as a chill/shock that goes up and down my spine, which I’ve also had before, but hasn’t been active.
Today out of boredom i layed down to take a nap. I was asleep and woke up to my phone ringing. I ignored the call and closed my eyes only to hear clear as day a really lovely voice singing a song I’ve never heard before. It was just two lines that i cant recall 100% but the last line was “get out of my head.” Only when i heard head it started skipping like a broken record and while that was happening i got the shock/chill in my neck the worst i even felt. It caused my neck to bend so far back and my shoulders to tense up so hard that i still have muscle pain, I’m pretty sure i blacked out right after and when i woke up i was so tired and emotional.
If someone told me this i would think omg this b*tch is CRAZY! Hence the reason i have never told another person face to face. I have had a normal eeg a few years ago, but working in the medical feild i have a little knowledge to know something is wrong with my brain. I have always had a deep down feeling that these were some type of seizures.
I dont trust doctors anymore soo no I’m not looking for medical advice! I just want to see if anyone else can relate or has heard of something like this before.
I have a full time job, im fully functional, im a caregiver for my sick mother, raising 2 babies (with tails and wet noses), im very actively dating… i dont believe that if i was crazy i would be able to do all this. And other than having really bad c.diff twice i have never felt better!
Wow! That is an experience to say the least. First off I was wondering where you got c diff? I am a nurse and a Chiari survivor. I say survivor because I had the surgery and I am living with the recovery process from that.
C diff usually happens when you have been on long term antibiotics and they kill the good bacteria in your gut that allows c diff to grow. It is very contagious especially for small children, elderly, or immunosuppressive patients.
I have heard talking and voices when no one is there and experienced light sleep " experiences of not being able to move, scream, breathe or wake up"
Then I so wake up and I am ok. Do you have Chiari? Have you had a CT or MRI of the brain? Chiari causes so many symptoms that can be different for everyone.
You are not weird because you experience theses things. I just wish I could tell you what and why.
I was diagnosed with chiari last year, 4 years after being told i have a long syrnx in my thoracic spine. I’ve had the sleep paralysis a lot like you described but mine always starts as tingling or shocks in my stomach. This i can say was similar to what I’ve experienced before, it Was just never this violent and I’ve never heard such vivid voices especially as a song.
As for the cdiff I’m a medical tech in a gastro office and i had a splash mishap with a cdiff patient
Oo and Ive learned to go with the flow when the sleep attacks happen, but sometimes if its a scary one or catches me off guard i wake up with severe sadness and anxiety for the next day or 2.
