My surgery date has been set for October 15! They said I could have it on the 1st but I need time to get my house and work in order first!
I had a question about returning to work, at first she said I could go back in 2 weeks!!! I said that seemed really soon so she said maybe 4. Do you guys think 2 weeks is too soon? I am an accountant so it's mostly computer work and sitting around so maybe it would be ok. IDK.
Thanks guys! Glad to know I'm not crazy. I asked if we could do 4 weeks for the FMLA papers. I don't want them putting two and me feeling like I have to rush to work. :(
I had a tonsilectomy a couple years back and was still miserable at the 2 week mark...there is no way I could've gone to work so I thought it sounded really soon for such a major procedure!
My NS told me I could go back in 4 weeks which seemed good with me. The strange thing was when I called his office to get my return to work papers his staff was so surprised I was ready to go back and were reluctatant to give me a release. I ended up going back part time at 4 weeks and full time at 6. This worked out perfectly for me. I had an extremely smooth recovery and I don't think I would have been able to to back at 2 weeks.
BTW, I am a Director of Accounting so my work is mostly computer work.
Depends on what you do, but I truly do not support two weeks. I just started to get off the couch and moving about at 2weeks. The third week felt much bettter then previous! I waited six weeks and went part time and slowly worked up to 40.
