QV....I first want to say how much I appreicate your update. I am having surgery Monday and my husband acts like the take away from my pre op visit yesterday is that I will be good as new once I come home from the hospital....leaping over buildings etc. I am going to have him read this. I don't think he understands my point that the doctor has most likely never been on this side of the surgery and can only give you medical responses. He is also not going to tell you what you will feel like with any level of accuracy as everyone is different.
I am sorry that you are feeling so bad right now and I hope that you feel better soon. Please keep up with the updates as much as possible as I would like to be able to use you as a source of hope that it will get better for myself.
I would like to thank you also for your candid response. You sound like me when I talked to my husband yesterday. I am so frustrated with him thinking this will be a cake walk. (BTW he has NEVER had surgery so what does he know). I think I might pull up the surgery on UTube and make him watch it and hope to change his opinion.
I think this weekend is going to be the longest one of my life (surgery 6/4).

QV-are you on pain meds? Are you taking 1-2 every 4-6 hours? I was blown away by your original post op post. I was jealous and felt like the biggest wimp ever. What you are experiencing now is far more normal than what you were saying one day post op. have to drive daughter to school but will write more in a bit. I have heard some people say oh I just took Tylenol. I finally said to my ns "yeah who the F are those damn people?!?!?!" it hurts like shit and anyone who is treating with Tylenol in my opinion is a crazy glutton for pain. You had surgery a week ago- you will be in severe pain and I slept for first two weeks. This is far more normal than what you originally experienced. Please know this is how it is. It is ok. You want to know why you hurt have you seen the video on utube? You will know why you hurt. It is an extremely invasive surgery. Go easy on yourself.
