Well I am happy to say that after the mess at Mayfield and my not so pleasant experience then the mess with my prescriptions and trying to even get a follow up when I am supposed to, I am doing much better! Went to my primary care doctor that went off my papers from Mayfield only fixed my prescriptions based on her knowing me for over 10 years. So I have been sleeping better, 4-5 hours straight and usually up for an hour or so but have been back to sleep for a few more hours.
It has been a much better few days and I am so thankful to have such a great doctor that knows me and what is best for me. And backed me 100% on going to the ER when and if it is even in question, especially after my anxiety attacks from all the pain I was in and Mayfields lack of pain management for me!
I have been out of the house every day since I was released two days after surgery. Shopping, errands, and just to get out in general. It might only be a few hours and wipes me out but in my opinion for myself any way, laying in bed for hours only makes me feel worse.
10 days after surgery and we made the 3 hour drive home to my parents for Easter, the car ride was rough I am not going to lie but doing great once I got here and in a recliner.
My doc added on break through muscle relexers since the robaxin is only 8 hours and never lasted that long (I’ve been on it before plus flexoril for years) and that has made the world of a difference. I take the robaxin and then a few hours in I can take the other before the robaxin is due.
Still have the muscle spasms but none as severe as the one on Monday and a lot more tolerable! Still get the out of no where numbness and tingly feelings down my arms and legs and are just achey but all in all I am doing much better.
I will not bash Mayfield on here, but I will be 100% honest and say I am and have been extremely disappointed in their after care and their treatment plan that wasnt followed. I have also even received an apology from their office if that tells you anything and I have been contacted by some one in their patient care advocate group. I still plan to write my letters and story so it is all documented. I had done a lot of research and I also know now I am not the only one that has had a similar experience there once the process was started so I don’t feel like I am being rude or expected too much. But I think it is 100% crap they pawned me off on my own PCP because they were “booked” for even my post op to be when it should. So my post op care is now managed my by own regular MD and she had to take out the staple too.
That is enough details, I just wanted to post an update that at least I am doing better… And in my opinion this soon afterwards I am doing fantastic. I hope my road/journey keeps going this smooth with no more issues.
My follow up with Dr Tew is April 3rd.
Hope everyone is staying well! And thanks again to ALL your support, before, during, and after, and when I needed it the most! Great group of people on here!
