Do anyone know if we can ride on a plane after having decompression surgery?
Not sure. I have heard arguments on both sides. I think that since the planes are pressurized the take off and landing would be the worst part but again I am not sure. Personally I get horrible pain just driving up and down in the mountains, so I could not imagine a plane. I am also curious as to see what others say. If you are keeping track, count me a neutral.
I have flown but it was almost a year after my surgery. I didn’t really have anywhere to go… so I didn’t fly.
I flew home the day after I was released from the hospital. So that was 5 days after surgery. I didn't have any problems at all. But I think it is up to the surgeon.
I also flew home the day I was released from the hospital - but it was only an hour and a half flight. I was six days out of surgery. No problems - I really don't remember much. = )
