Migraines vs rebound

Since the neurologist upped to dosages it seems my heads are worse than before. I do not know how that is possible. Could they be rebound? I don't know the difference between rebound and migraine

Not sure what medication he/she has you on, but maybe the medication is causing the headaches and or you are having some sort of reation to the medication- but to answer your question read below:

from mayo it says:

Rebound headaches tend to:

  • Occur every day, often waking you in the early morning
  • Improve with pain-relief medication but then return as your medication wears off
  • Persist throughout the day
  • Worsen with physical or mental exertion

Other signs and symptoms may include:

  • Neck pain
  • Anxiety
  • Restlessness and difficulty concentrating
  • Memory problems
  • Irritability
  • Depression
  • Unrestful sleep
  • Stuffy nose

They upped the dose on amatripiline (sp) and put me on floscet (sp). What this feels like is eyes wanting to pop out of head. Light and sounds havent been bothering me constantly like they have been with migraines when i end up in ER so could be rebound. I'm at a loss. It seems when i figure out some everything changes.

Is a stuffed up nose feeling be apart of this even when there is nothing there when you blow? I feel like a child unable to blow their nose lately

Big Red,

I take Zomig for my headaches and it really helps me. It does knock me out though. I Googled Fioricet and Rebound Headaches and it said if you take it more than a few times a week it does give you rebounds. I occasionaly get them when the weather is bad and I have to take Zomig for a few days in a row but generally it's not a problem. I know they feel awful though. You should definitely call your doctor. Maybe they can give you something else. You might have to taper off the one your taking. Good Luck

Very Interesting Lisa and Chris.....Thank you !!!
