Limbs falling asleep/burning fingers

This seems to be happening more and more, arms, hands, leg, foot..I always thought it was positional, now it seems to be just whenever. I don't know what is normal anymore. What is normal for feeling coming back after a body part goes to sleep? and how often does this normally happen..

Also..I have this weird burning in my fingertips..like I just cut up fresh jalapenos,..but I haven't cooked in days..and in months with jalapenos. Can anyone relate?

Have you already had a decompression surgery? Other than carpel tunnel, I had never had numbness until about 6 weeks before my surgery, then I experienced the numbness from the Chiari and it was totally different, weird. I would even notice it if I turned my head certain ways, or leaned forward to far. Does this sound the same?

Yes, this happens to me too. My "mild tingling" has turned into pain and goes from my shoulders to my fingertips and my knees to my feet. I am on 600 mg of Gabapentin (Neurontin) a day and it really helps me. It knocks the pain back down to mild tingling for me. I also get what I call the "creepy crawlies" where it feels like my scalp is tingling and it only happens on one side at a time, mostly the right side. It's a bizarre feeling, like something is crawling across your head! If I lay on my arms or legs they falls asleep quickly or if I kneel and sit on my legs they go to sleep. From what I hear, many people with Chiari get these symptoms. So I can relate! Terri in MN
