Over the last couple days I have started having burning down my spine, my neck, and in my sinuses. I also have a burning sensation in my arms at times. Has anyone else noticed this or anything similar?
Hi Tiffany! I had a lot of burning before decompression. It was one of my first symptoms. It would get so bad that I would hold ice packs on my face. It had initially started on the left side of my face then extended to my neck, shoulders, arms and down my back. It is so uncomfortable. My NL had tried Neurontin and Amitriptyline. They did help some. I'd call your doctor. There is no need to suffer through it. I did for too long.
Oh, just a note of warning...my PCP tried to blame it on anxiety. Like so many of my symptoms, she tried to chalk it up to just that. When I explained it to my neurologist he understood that it was a nerve issue. Gotta love being a Chiarian... If you don't have anxiety....they will be SURE to give it to you :) Hope you have a good day!
i was about to start a thread on a similar thing. its down the back of my right leg from behind the knee to my angle. its like a dog is peeing on my leg but hotter, like a cup of tea being spilt down me. usualy lasts a few seconds and my skin is not warm to the touch and it doesnt flush.
it was wierd when it was a few times a day, but now its every half hour and starting to annoy me.thankfully its not really painful, just distracting and odd. could it be a chiari thing?

Mine starts in my sinuses, goes through my neck and all the way down my spine. It feels like it’s on fire. Then sometimes the burning will shoot down my arms. At this point I can only think its chiari’s related of course there could always be another underlying cause. I see my nl for the 1st time on the 14th so hopefully Ill find out then.
I used to have the burning sensations frequently pre-surgery. It felt like someone was holding a match to me!
