Hello from Shawn

Hello everyone. I had a TIA a few weeks ago. The MRIs they did showed a 7mm malformation. They found a Meningioma pressing against my brain stem. And a small aneurysm. The neurosurgeon said he has never seen someone with all three. So I’m considering myself special. Mom was right.

I am 53 years old. I still compete in powerlifting-bench press only. You gotta keep doing what you love to do. And I love my dogs.

Over the last year, year and a half I have been getting wicked headaches in the back of my head, top of neck. If I exert a lot of energy, or sneeze, it could make it throb for hours. Sometimes it feels like somebody hit me in the back of the head with a baseball bat for an hour or two. Other times it could just be a dull, slight pain, just enough to annoy you, for over 12 hours. The daytime fatigue is bad. Really bad. But that could be written off due to sleep apnea. I find my balance isn’t near to what it used to be. It’s frustrating not being able to pinpoint exactly what’s causing what.

From what I’ve been reading on this site, it looks like other people experience fatigue, loss of balance, bad headaches. At least I know what I’m going through is real. I hope you all have a great day.
