What do you all do on days that you have a bad headache? Yesterday I took, throughout the day, 8 ibuprofen and 2 tylenol, which didn't really help much anyway. If I could take 3 ibuprofen every few hours I would probably be fine, but how much is too much?
I'd love to hear what you all have heard from your doctors, or what you have found that works on your own. I'm a single mom of an 8 year old daughter and 6 year old twin boys, so resting just isn't an option. Actually laying down usually makes it worse anyhow.
No, I haven't tried those yet, it's certainly worth a try. Thanks!! The kids are in school, and I work at home, but I have a design business and I'm in the middle of launching a new company. Talk about stress! :)

Have you tried Excedrin Migraine pills? One dose of that knocks it out for me, but maybe not for you. I'd be interested in other opinions too. God bless you as you care for you children! Are they in school? Take care and get some breaks in when you can. You're in my prayers.
Thanks Abby. Sleep isn't really an option for me, but sometimes that actually makes my headaches worse because my neck is so uncomfortable. 16 advil a day, though, wow that's more than I thought was ok, which is a good thing!

You might check on taking ibuprofen and tylenol together in one day. Ask your doctor about this. My neurologist said I could take 4 advil every 4 or 5 hours, not to exceed 16 a day. You might find that sleeping is the best thing. Don't fight it, try to sleep off the headache with an Ice pack to the back of your head. (advice from my neurologist)
Do you have someone to watch the kids while you sleep?
you should check with your doctor about taking those vitamins because you dont want xtra dose yourself if not necessary.
you may also find that, a warm or cold pack on shoulders/neck or head may also help when i was getting the bad migraine headaches i would alternate btwn the two heat wrap and icepacks and it would help more then medications, Oh and i would drink gatorade when they were exceptionally bad.
I take Fiorocet which is a script when a get a whopper.....When i don't think the h/a is Fiorocet worthy..LOL ..I use Mortin and put a soft ice gel pack on both my neck and forehead.
my sister swears by BenGay..
You can also try homeopathic remedies...I metntioned essential oils earlier on a post...google 'essential oil head ache remedies" worth a shot.
My thinking is.."If it's legal...I try it, at this point"...I am serious!
