Alright I know there's a big taboo about Chiros but lets put bias aside and talk. As a few of you have suggested you should talk to your NS about his opinion first. But like we all have learned then you research. In my case it just so happens that my PCP NL NS Orthro and kids doc all use the same Chiro that I do. So my resaerch was made easy. Since my Chiro was treating my headaches /migraines he had already seen my MRI. When I told him of my dx and asked if he could help he aplogized for missing it then gave me an education on CM. So with back adjustments gentle neck message for adjustment then a deep muscle massage ( he has one one staff ) and a follow up for ultrasound and tens I'm feeling better than I have in months. But it all goes back to research/ interview all your drs/ and feeling confident about your treatment. You control your health. Be active in your treatment. Dont be afraid to at least look into something new whatever it maybe.

I wouldn’t let a chiro touch my back or neck. No disrespect to chiros (my sil and bil are both chiropractors) but I just wouldn’t take the risk. There is just not enough known about Chiari, that NS and NLs cant even agree across the board.
But I do totally agree about taking control of our health. Im glad you found relief!
I'm with you, Wendy. I would never, ever let a chiropractor touch my body again. I went to regular chiropractic appointments for years when I was in my 20's and it was horrificly painful. My chiropractor was a good friend of mine and we could never figure out why it hurt so bad. It felt like she was driving ice picks into my body. When I think of all the times she adjusted my neck and head I shudder. Oh boy. Massage is like torture for me. Backrubs hurt me. Knowing what I know now about my body and Chiari I am in agreement that chiropractors should be steered clear of if you have Chiari. Sorry, DragonSlayer, chiros are not for me! But I still think my chiro friend is a wonderful person :)
Thanks all for your input.
