I am trying to sort out all my options right now. I just started my second semester of my Bachelor's program for special education. Is there anyone here that is currently a teacher? If so, how does your Chiari affect your ability to do your job? I will be certified for elementary school K-5 and Mild to Moderate disability K-12. While I realize I will have to put my classes on hold for surgery, I don't want to put my dream on hold permanently.
Thanks Rebecca, that is very promising. My dream has always been to be a teacher. So far my only diagnosis is Chiari I. I will know more after I see the Surgeon on Tuesday. I'm hoping he will agree to the surgery and I can just be over and done with this.
