A few more questions

A couple more things I have been wondering about.

Is it possible to have symptoms (mine come and go but I never feel great) and not have a syrinx or csf flow blockage?

Also is there any kind of link between Chiari and lower spinal disk herniations? My first herniated disk was when I was barely 18 and then I had 2 when I was about 26ish. I’m 47 now and have back pain in various places but not like a herniated disk.

Also in prep for my NS appt. tomorrow, should I just ask how many or how often she has done this surgery? And what is acceptable? There is a brain and spine center here in Indy that has NS that operate at the IU hospital. Does anyone have an opinion on that? I am a couple of hours from Mayfield but if I need surgery I would like to be closer to home.

Thanks : )

I would have the NS look at your csf flow because mine was read as normal when upon review by the NS it was not. Definitely ask how many chiari cases they have done because experience is best. I traveled the five hours to have Mayfield do my surgery and so far no regrets!
