well just got home, he says that the chiari is barely there to be causing any of the systems, says theres some neck bulge but surgery won't help or do anything. says that theres something causing my systems and that the nl and i have to keep working on what it is. i still have to go see a ms specialist to see what he thinks cause its still possible i have ms. i still have to see a dr about my knee to see what could be causing the numbness, weakness there. well i suppose to try to take a long ride to the up and hope i can make it, cause the pain in my neck gets to me then my back starts to hurt.

thanks beeba,my nl said he has done chiari for him before, my report said mine was a mild 7mm also. does the ns have to order a cine mri or can your nl

Then you ain't done. Sorry. Was this ns a chiari specialist? They will know that with even a minimal to no herniation the determining factor will be measurements, and spinal fluid flow. You need another opinion or call that ns back and insist on a cine. It could be a game changer.

i read up allittle more on their website says they deal with chiari, its just been a pain with all the test and other thing i've had to go threw to find out what wrong and i guess i'm still not do.i have a family reunion to go to this weekend i think i need a break before more test are pry done

7mm and symptoms does not sound anywhere near "mild" to me. Your NS may deal with Chiari, but does he specialize in it? Gawd, these stories make me mad. Of course I haven't seen my NS yet and he may say the same thing to me, but I sure hope not.

i live in michigan around novi area. it says that they specialize in decompressive surgery for chairi 1 malformation
