I am 9 months out today and I am with my family at Yellowstone National Park. I have been hiking, fishing and sightseeing.
This time last year I couldn’t see a light at the end of the tunnel. I can’t put into words how much better I feel today.
I just want to encourage everyone to hang in there. Good luck to those having surgery soon.
It is great to hear good news. I am still waiting for my surgery, and hoping to go sooner than July 9 if possible. I love hearing about success stories.
I had decompression surgery by Dr Oro. He removed a piece of my skull. He opened be dura and used a piece harvested from higher on my head for the graf. He placed a titanium plate where the skull was removed.
My recovery was pretty smooth. Remember to listen to your body, rest and let it heal.
Hope this helps.

Diana, would you mind telling us what exactly you had done? It might be useful to those of us still facing surgery.
I was just curious where you were treated and who did your surgery?
I was diagnosed 2 yrs ago Feb. at my last appointment I was told I need surgery. GO Home think about it and give us a call when you're ready..
Last weekend started to get even worse the pain in my rightside is awful, I can't write , the computer is so hard to type on ,my head is throbing and I can barley see out of my right eye!
I've called the Surgeons office twice saying i'd like to move forward and that I'm in terrible pain.. I can't get a call back? The Dr was very nice but support team not organized and I'm thinking I need to seek treatment else where..
Thank you , I'm new to the site and trying to get all the info i can,
Deb, after seeing 2 local NSs, I went to the Chiari care center in denver where Dr Oro did my surgery. I had to travel from Tx but it was a good choice for me.
Chiari took over my life last year before surgery. Vertigo, brain fog, pain on the right side, double vision were some of my symptoms.
Good Luck and I say go to Dr Oro if at all possible.
