Will surgery be postponed?

On Thursday night my son Lucas you is shceduled for surgery on July 6th woke up in the middle of the night with that wonderful "seal cough". I take him to the ped's on Friday to get him check out because I really wanted to nip this asap so I won't have to postpone surgery. The put him on prednisolone. They did a strep test came back negative but we still had to wait on the 24hr one. Today I get the phone call that it's positive. Started him on Amoxicillin. He has no fever and I've already contacted his NS about all of this. I just want to know what you all may feel or thing. Will they postpone the surgery? Should I postpone the surgery myself? I am so confused because I've been counting down the days in misery for a month now and I just don't know how much more I can take. But I want to do the right thing. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Let your NS decide. If you keep him informed, he will be able to make the best decision for your child. Hopefully, if he does have to postpone, it will not be for long. (My own NS said repeatedly that he can work a surgery into the schedule with about 7 days notice.) Maybe the scheduler at the NS office can help a bit, too, giving you a "hold" on a slot the following week or something.
Good luck to you and your son.
