Hello everyone! Many of you have asked for an update on Alyssa.
We are still in the hospital. She has had a pretty rough time. Constant pain, vomiting and dizziness. Dr says she is having difficulty getting used to the pressure change in her head. He said there was a huge buildup of fluid and her body needs to get used to the regular flow. They have her laying flat all the time except for going potty. When she gets up she immediately gets a headache and starts vomiting. She hasn’t eaten anything and is barely drinking. She had some spinal fluid leakage yesterday but has had none since. Seems to be a slow process.
I do have to say that I have been very impressed with Dr. Harris and the nursing staff. They all have been compassionate and helpful. They have bent over backwards to help control her pain and vomiting. I can’t imagine having to go through this without their support!
