Hi All sorry I havent joined in for a while , have been feeling gradually worse and think depressed as can’t even be bothered to join in any conversation!I finally have a date for my op, 23rd July so I am starting to feel really anxious, trying to read everything I can, I dont have the chronic headaches that alot of you seem to have mine are more pressure related , going to th loo, coughing, sneezing laughing, my mobility is much worse due to muscle weakness and I dont get out much now ,I have constant palpatation doing the slightest things, I think why I am writing is I am doubting whether to have the op, some days I feel I can’t go on like this , and sometimes I feel relatively normal!I tink I may be just panicking as I have been waiting so long due to the NHS here, also have read that alot of symptoms return so I am wondering why bother? can anyone please give me some advice or a kick up the backside, I am very confused, thanks for listening xxxxxxxxxx
Hi Abby thanks so much, no I havent been diagnosed with dysautonomia, but reading the symptoms I could well have this as well, well in for a penny in for a pound!! I am really scared about the op. there are a lot of negative comments about, not here but in all I have read, I know I have to have it done but really hope it helps, I know It is not a “cure” but hope I don’t make things worse as I am not too bad as long as I am sitting down( thats my excuse anyway!) and don’t want to regret having it done, I think its just the nerves kicking in though as I have been waiting 16months for this , it seems a bit unreal now its almost here, I will kepp you all updated on my progress , thanks again xxx
Skeeter, the nerves are normal and I agree about the dysautonomia. I will be sending positive thoughts and prayers for you and your surgeon on the 23. I know there is a lot of scary things to read, just keep in mind that many success stories are out enjoying life, not posting on sites.
Hugs, jenn

Headaches actually weren't my #1 symptom. I would get the pressure headaches and the occasional back of the head ones but they were tolerable. I had more problems with tingling and numbness in my hands and feet, dizziness, fatigue, neck and shoulder pain, and weakness. I had my surgery in October of 2012 and I feel so much better! I don't regret it a bit! It's normal to be nervous. I agree with Jenn...people are much more likely to post online about a negative experience than a positive one! Best wishes for a speedy recovery!!!
Sorry I don't have words of wisdom to give you but just wanted to send you huge hugs and calm positive thoughts :)
Thank you all so much for your kind words and thoughts , I will let you know how things go and hopefully there will be positive comments that will help others awaiting surgery, I know I am slightly different to the rest of you as I am in the UK,I can’t pick my surgeon so just hope he has a steady hand and is feeling in a good mood,(only joking!) thanks once again xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
