Sinus Surgery with Chiari

Today I had an MRI done, and have an appointment with a new Neurologist this coming Friday, 7/20. The Neurologist is evaluating my Chiari to see if it's safe for the ENT doctor to do my sinus surgery. I've had a sinus infection for along time, medicine hasn't helped. CT scan showed blockages, so the ENT doctor believes this would help clear up my sinus condition. I am concerned about the safety of this. Does anyone have any expierence or imput on this matter?

Annie

Thanks, you for making me feel better.

Had nasal surgery before I knew I had chiari. My dr chose nasal because it is less Invasive and if it didn't work then there was still the option of sinus. It was a huge help. Not a fun surgery by any stretch but it did help me a great deal. I was having the sinus issues again before decompression surgery but once I had that the sinuses did stop bothering me for months. Started again recently but my surgery was almost 5 years ago - for the most part they are only good for five years. But the next person who wants to operate on me in any way is gonna have to catch me!! Lol. Good luck with this.
