My daughter had her CM surgery on Monday. Her incision is about 4 inches. She has a scab on the top on the incision (about 2 inches long). How long did the scab stay? We are cleaning her incision 3 times per day and the scab does not seem to be going away. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!!
Wow, you guys are lucky. I wasn't allowed to get my incision wet at all for 10 days. GROSS. I could shower, obviously, but had to wear a shower cap. Don't really remember any scabbing per se, the incision area was pretty clean overall. I had bleeding after surgery from my incision (I threw up...alot) but they just checked it and cleaned me up. They had some kind of dressing STUCK over the entire thing from top to bottom. Literally, stuck, like industrial strength duct tape. Idiot resident removed it from the nape UP before I went home. Any hair I had left was ripped out at that point and I imagine any scabbing as well. I would just avoid removing the scab, cleanse GENTLY, and watch for inflammation or fever.
My daughter has not had her surgery yet but I hope yours is feeling ok soon :)
