My son had decompression surgery at 13 - his only real symptom was like someone was strangling him - he had his latest MRI scan - all clear and his syrinx have shrunk - the one by 22mm and the doc says it looks like the body is absorbing them - no pressure and all looks good
He now complaining that he cannot breathe but the feeling is lower down on his neck
Someone suggested that they syrinx could of caused nerve damage causing them to twitch or spasm - anyone feel this too -
He says the feeling is so real that it makes him panic and the into a full blown panic attack - we have put him on meds now but still wont go to school as waiting for the meds to kick in - it is especially bad a night sometimes we pace the house until 2am while he panic attacks
