Lori,
I had my decompression in 2001. I got better for a while but have steadily gotten worse over the years. I was checked for syrinx several times because I had many of the symptoms. When I went to see my new ns a year ago because I was still having terrible pain and mobility problems she rattled off several things that could be the reason for my situation. One of the things she said to me was that you can have the symptoms of syrinx without having one. She is the most knowledgeable doctor I have ever spoken to. She is German and was schooled and trained in Europe. I'm pretty sure that not too many doctors would agree with her but I trust her medical opinion. My CSF ended up blocked.

Hi Wendy..
Many thanks for your reply..How are you doing now?
Lori,
I really don't like to complain but not good. Just trying to be patient waiting for surgery. She has given me garuntees because everything has been blocked for so long but I need to try if not for me for my kids. I am sick of this effecting their lives. I am afraid to go through it again because my experience was not good but she assures me that the surgery is alot better than it was in 2001 and the first 6 weeks are the roughest. I can endure anything for 6 weeks. Us Chiarians are tough!
How is your new medication working? Have you ever tried Diamox? One of my doctors sugested it years ago but my nl would never order it. I hope your having a good day Lori. I always appreciate your help and friendship. I've been thinking about Michael all day. I hope he's okay.
