Hi all - I received my first ever occipital nerve block on Thursday June 7th. I had what I think is normal injection site soreness for about 4 days, then on day 6 I got a bad migraine and my neck started getting really sore. Haven’t had a migraine since but my neck is absolutely killing me to the point that I can’t function. Has anyone ever had this happen and does it go away quickly?
I had undergone similar injections for sever occipital pain. I believe after wards is worse. About two years ago I started to receive Botox injections in my neck and head for the pain from my Neuro pain specialist. It worked and I was actually pain free for over 8 months. Botox actually numb the nerve for a long amount of time and it can even kill the nerve that causes the pain. Just thought I would mention it , in case there is a trial study where you live or a dr that does it. Best of wishes!
