New Diet questions for Chiarians

Hello everyone!

I've been trolling the Chiari discussion posts for about 30 minutes now, and it doesn't seem to have any updated information how how people are doing with their specialty diets.

I'm looking for Paleo, GF, plant-based, Paleo-keto, vegan, anything.

What works for you? What was a disaster?

I've also looked at these pages:

https://www.danielplan.com/healthyhabits/wholefoods/

I've been feeling like crap and I'm very overweight. Exercise is so much fun for us Chiarians (blatant sarcasm there for you), so I'm looking for ways to change my diet without going overboard that I can do with my limited exercise.

How did you morph into your diet? Did you just go for it all at once, or implement it over a period of time?

As with everyone here, I'm looking to be healthy without migraines (I'm decompressed and it worked mostly. Hooray!) and I think changing my diet is the next logical step. I have some IBS issues, so I imagine even gluten-free would be better for me.

I know there's a lot of you guys out there who have changed diets, so any ideas/encouragement/straight facts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I am on a gluten free diet mainly because of celiac disease but I do find it helps a few other issues. The last time I got "glutened" I had a migraine for over 2 weeks so it makes a big difference in headaches for sure. I also strictly avoid artificial sweeteners because they flare up my arthritis and make all my other issues worse.

I tested out the paleo diet prior to having surgery in the hopes that if it worked I wouldn't need surgery but honestly I saw no improvement and in some ways I felt worse than ever. I know some people have see great results with it so I would give it a good months trial or so and see if you are one.
