Nerves gone WILD - need advice and input, Please!

I just wrote a long post, clicked add and it disappeared. I am not sure I have the energy to pour my heart out again regarding what I am going through.....

I'm just gunna sum it up now and maybe post more specifics tomorrow. Basically, I am in post-op agony to the left of my incision, covering about a quarter of my scalp. Pain that feels like a blistering sunburn, plus numbness, random tingling, sensations like I am wearing tight sunglasses over my ear. There are places I scratch and cant feel it, but it hurts at the same time. I cant take much more.

My doc has offered Neurontin....a powerful drug, but the nurse did say that I would need to watch for swelling in hands and feet, dizziness and fatigue. REALLY???? I am just getting rid of that stuff since surgery.

I am about at my wits end. I am tough, like all of you, but I feel like I can't take much more of this kind of pain, discomfort, omg...I can't even describe it.

Thoughts? anything? Please......

Thanks Girls

I only have a couple of valium left, and the docs refuse to prescribe more. My two medication choices now are ibuprofen or Neurontin. I read some about neurontin and am a little teeny bit more chilled about it, but it is a serious brain medication, which I already knew.

Docs and meds are sometimes odd to me. One more wk of valium vs. a potent anti-convulsant med...hmmmm.

I broke down last night and took one, and will take it one day at a time. I am a tad uneasy, but desperation is overriding uneasiness right now..haha This scalp stuff is prob beginning to derail me mentally more than physically.

I'm such a whiner! :-)

hugs to you both
