Having this strange symptom, where i will be sitting or lying down, and my whole arm will jerk out such as anding someone something, only noone is there and it happens so severely is scares me. Also my whole head jerked back and shoulder muscles tightened up. Also does this while i am falling asleep or am asleep more often than when awake. I actually hit myself in the face day before last . Anyone else have anything similar? I dont go see neuro until feb.
Allura, my arms and legs jerk out too. I have never figured out what this was about…I have assumed its some sort of movement disorder from cerebellum problems. Have you asked your doctor about? I’m curious to hear what others have to say about it.

I've had this my whole life, to the point where I will twitch severely enough to trigger a seizure mat (placed under the mattress for kids who are monitored for seizure activity.) It's never bothered me really, I guess because I've always done it. My hubby has woken up with scratches on his head, sore ears, etc. We just chalk it up to an over-exerted day. After a super stressful day, when I fall asleep, I jerk completely awake before falling asleep. I never bothered asking because my brother, mother, and several other family members to the same thing. Also, I know many small children do it. Not sure if it's something that is normally outgrown or not?
I also have this. Sometimes it can get really bad. I thought it might stop after surgery, but it hasn't. Have you had surgery?
Thanks. I will try that.

Yes i have had 3 surgeries for the headaches, c2 and c3 bilateral ganglionectomies and the chiari decompression surgery with duraplasty, invasive and they removed the piece of skull not just enlarged it. Last 2 were in may of 2014. But for past 2 months my symptoms are getting worse and have been having new ones.

I have this happen to me, but I don't have the whole picture about why. Mine can get so bad that it can also effect my legs. It is like electrical signals being shot out from the spinal cord. It was worse with me, before I started taking medication for my autoimmune spinal arthritis (Ankylosing Spondylitis) P.S. Despite popular belief, women commonly experience AS in the neck first before all other symptoms. It's confusing, because MS also has similar symptoms.
Try Magnesium lotion too. Amazon has one with shea in it. It might help a little.
