Light at the end of the tunnel

So I finally got some good news yesterday. I got approved for SSI and found out yesterday that I will be receiving back pay for the month of July and August and then will be receiving regular payments on the first of every month starting in September. I will also finally be approved for medicaid so I can get finally get a new neurologist and get in to see my cardiologist!!! It feels so good to finally have a good story to share instead of negative stories.

Yay!!

Well I had to go to the ER yesterday because I had a headache for three days and my meds we’re not helping. They gave me a combination of compozine, tylenoly, and didexedrone and then did a CT scan and X-rays and told me it was just a bad migraine and sent me home. The meds helped and I learned that I can’t over do it. Like being up all weekend. I took my daughter to the science museum on Friday and then went to the lake with my family on Saturday and the headache started Saturday night and lasted through Monday.

That is great. Did you have to have an attorney to help you get your Ssi? Also what helped you get approved?

I did not have an attorney and I applied for SSI when I applied for disability and got approved for SSI with in one week, however I am still waiting for approval for disability

SSI approval in one week?! I was just approved after 2 years and 3 denials... so I am very 'jealous' right now. lol

Amy, so happy for you. This is great news!!

That is great news, and it sure should help with some of the stress of dealing with the daily issues of chiari. I got my ssid approved after 1 year, and 1 denial. And the ability to find new doctors helps alot. I hope everything goes good with your disability claim.
