Hot flashes

I'm 35 and 4 wks post op since surgery was done I have been having hot flashes I'm not in menopause anyone else experience this?

Hi Carolyn.
As well as Chiari I also have thyroid disease. This causes hot flushes in me when it is out of contol. There are many reasons also - have you been checked for infection?
Just a thought.
Warmest Wishes & Cool thoughts your way!

The delayed and over-reaction to hot and cold stimulus reminds me of adrenal gland issues, related to the hormones issues Beeba was talking about.

Well this morning had blood drawn to check all hormone levels find out Friday results

I still have it. My DR said I just can't regulate my body temp because of the chiari and its just one of those effects I will have. Its not constant hot flashes, I will be inside a house that's 72° and freezing while everyone else is comfortable or hot,

Its crazy I walk around with small ice packs in my bra

I like the ice packs in the bra idea! I am four months post op and get crazy hot flashes or random ridiculous chills. Its summer and I am in sweats inside or outside and then suddenly, I lift my arms and im burning hot and drenched in sweat! Im not in menopause either. Weird. But, thanks for letting me know Im not alone either!

I used snack size zip locks and you fill them with 1 part rubbing alcohol and 2 parts water and then when they freeze its not hard they stay slushy

That’s a great idea! Thanks!
