I take the following for HA pain Exedrin- Migraine (takes at least 3 to do the job) Toredol- (ketoralac) Works decent Imitrex Pills and Injections- Works decent- but the first 30 mins after taking I feel horrible! Cambia- works great but only 9 per refill (and expensive even with ins)
I keep hearing that we shouldnt take "________" too often because it causes re-bound headaches.
But what do you do when you have to take SOMETHING everyday and usually at least 2X's a day??
Hello, Sorry to hear your headaches are so bad. I had decompression in Sept 2012 and was great for five weeks no pain at all then it all came back and worst the headache now were 24/7 and nothing helped and nobody wanted to help I was told I had surgery and was cured, I was finally send to a pain management Doctor, he tried something that really works for me radiofreguency, burns my nerves in my neck and lower he burns 6 of them hard to go through but my headaches go away this last for 6 to 8 months. He now has 3 other Chiari patients now.
I’m still new with this one, but my doctor had me cut dairy out of my diet. Apparently there is some correlation between dairy foods and inflamation. My headache is down from a constant 6-8 to a 2 as is the rest of my body, and only one flare up in the last week.
You need more than a pill. You are endangering your kidneys with all the pills.
If I were you I would insist they try me with a radio frequiency rizotomy in the neck into the nerve that relays the message of head pain to the brain.
I have had two - with a space of two and half years in between - and it worked wonders. You will still feel any pressure etc, you will just not need all those pain tablets as the pain will be under control.
This is done under general anaesthetic in theatre, takes max 15 minutes. They insert very thin needle into the nerve and stuns it with radio frequency. You go home the same day, rest two or three days and back to work. You will find yourself to be a different person.
This is the best way to give your kidneys a break.and rid you of the pain.
Hi- I was decompressed in April 2014- My pain management specialist recently put on a blood pressure medication to take daily to try to help with the headaches as well as a new as needed drug. I haven't been on them long enough to tell if they're working, but I will let you know if they help. Beyond this, the next options are Botox, a nerve block and a clinical trial nasal spray that will all be done simultaneously. Please let me know if you find anything that helps.
