I think I might have started doing to much to soon. after 4 weeks I went back to being a homemaker and I think I might had over done it. Now i'm tired all the time and starting to stumble alot. In another post I asked about feeling bad after the 4 week but now that I think about it I think I started doing to much at to early. My boyfriend has me back down and wants me to call the doctor. I don't think at this point I need to but he is keeping a close eye on me.
I can sit down a fold laundry but then have to take a break. The stabing headaces are back and I have to take my painpill all the time now because the spot where they remover the skull is hurting so be I can't move my head unless I take a pain pill.
I came on here this morning to find out about post op and where my 16 yr old daughter should be at, although I am quite aware that each person is different, but nice to have some type of comparison. My daughter had a VERY hard first week, then once the nausea and pain was under control, she just took off. I should have known the other day when she said, "I hope Im not doing too much, I think I may need to slow down" it was a sign. She started back to school for 2, half days, stayed home the next day and slept or laid down all day. Today, the fourth day, she is laying down and resting, and trying to push a half day again today. She is exhausted, no pain, just hoping this is all normal. I just want my kid back, especially after putting her through all of this, I want results and am desperately trying to be patient. All I need to hear is that this is normal and she needs time, but over time, things will get better. It sounds as though you are in the same boat as her. This is a major surgery...listen to your body and let it heal....(I know, easier said than done) Good luck!
I don't know how I could have sit still for awhile at 16 I was so busy. Let her know i'm with her and not to let feeling good as a sign of healing I learned the hard way.
