I saw my NS yesterday to follow up after my CSF leak on Friday. He said things are looking pretty good & that things seem to be working. He said I must have popped a stitch on the patch he put on my dura. I have been sleeping sitting up now for 4 days and am back to no lifting or straining at all. I have to keep doing this for another week. That is hard for me but the alternatives are much worse. He said if this doesn't fix the problem he will either have to go back into my head to repair the patch or will have to put me in the hospital & put a needle in my spine for five days to drain the fluid... I think sleeping sitting up & doing nothing at home sounds much better. Crossing my fingers this works. I need to get better & back to normal. This is all putting such a strain on my family.

I hope you continue to heal and feel better. Just remember it's temporary and will soon be a distant memory. It's worth it if you avoid those other options. Your family will be so glad to have you back healthier that none of this down time healing will matter. I am praying for you. Wendy
Becki, I'm in the same situation, I saw my dr last wk. He is positive it will resolve by itself. Said I need to remain upright all the time also. He has no plans to intervene. Said it will take up to 4mo post-op in my situation as I had major surgery w/large insision and a bone reconstruction of the skull. He's a top chiari specialist with many yrs experience so I'll try to have faith in what he says. I feel like I'm getting so weak without any exercise but will have to take one day at a time for now. I too have a leak where my NS left my dura open and has now created a pusedomeningcele! tried a blood patch that didnt work so now waiting to see if is going to repair my dura and cap off the pusedo,having horrendous positional headaches.My thoughts to all that has a csf leak its a horrible complication,Denise xx
