Hi all I was wondering if anyone has had the epideral steroid injections in their lower back. I was decomposed in March for a 25mm germination and had calf leak in April where the fluid was gathering in my neck. Spent 15 days in the hospital. I now have a tethered cord with severe low back pain. The pain management doc is pushing the injections says they work together with the physical therapy. I am worried about a spinal leak. Has anyone ever had these shots?
Please has anyone ever had these shots. I am am miserable and don't know what to do

I had lower Caudal injections a few months ago for My sacral area because of deformity and arthritis. I have to admit it did help alot but didn't last as long as I was hoping for. It only lasted 2 or 3 months. They said if I were to have more they would last longer. They did not give me anesthesia I would highly recommend using anesthesia. I have had many surgeries and this one was pretty painful but the pain went away after the procedure. Most Drs. do go with anesthesia I have no Idea why mine did not. Good luck.
Thanks for responding. I would gladly take any relief at this point. I believe I would be having them in the same spot as you. But he did say with anaesthesia. I guess I'm just afraid not sure if they will make anything worse.
With anesthesia this procedure is a breeze. You walk out with no pain. Hopefully when the numbing medication wears off you are still pain free. Good luck!!
I had one on my lower back. I had a bad experience with it but I do have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and CSF issues . They take a few days to work. I don't think it's immediate relief. The NS who ordered mine said it may even take more than ona and that the pain may get worse before it gets better. Best wishes with your shot .
