I feel like I am wasting my time with trigger point shots!

I feel like all problem solving for my neck problems has ground to a halt with me agreeing to have trigger point injections in my neck and shoulders. Here is the condensed version:

My NS has basically handed me off to my NL until they do cervical epidural shots.

My NL wanted me to try trigger point shots before the epidural shots. They are usually done with lidocaine and steroids, but I'm only able to get them with lidocaine, because of the limits on how many steroid shots you can have in 6 months.

I agreed to do the trigger point shots, as they are less invasive. Cervical epidural shots are kind of scary.

After they gave me the TP shots I was told I had to have at least TWO rounds of shots SIX WEEKS apart from each other. That is a long time when you are in so much pain that you can not live a normal life!

I had the first round of TP shots two weeks ago, and they have not done a darn thing.

I AM NOT PLEASED.

So, I think I am going to call my orthopedist (who treats the herniated discs in my lumbar spine) and ask for his opinion on my neck. I want someone to figure out what is wrong with me, not just keep giving me "pain relief" shots. Has anyone seen an orthopedic surgeon about neck problems after surgery? Were they helpful?

I asked my NS about craniocervical instability (through phone tag with his nurse - not ideal) and the response I got was "That's not the problem here. You don't need those tests." Between that and my NL dragging her feet, I feel stranded and that is why I thought of my orthopedist. I've known him for a long time and he is very nice and a very good listener.

I agree about the money back guarantee. That would be fantastic!
