Chiari 1 malformation congenital condition. Cerebellar tonsil herniates down through skull into spinal canal.7mm down causeing some upper mild verson of one finding that can be seen in a Chiari 2 malformation???
The only thing I know about Chiari 2 and up is that they are diagnosed at birth I believe and are much more serious than chiari 1. I wouldn't worry too much about that. 7mm is substantial, but I'm living pretty normally with a 14mm. When it comes to your Chiari it's more about your symptoms than what your chiari looks like - as long as spinal fluid is flowing you're OK.
I cant belive you can live with that.It is so strange that my little hurniation is causing such a fuss. It wont back off nothing I can do.So dose that mean I could have been born with it???

Everyone that has chiari is born with it. Some people will go their whole lives never knowing they even have it because they never have a single symptom! Most people with chiari 1, like us, don't show symptoms until they're adults - mid 20's and later.
