Has anyone been to the Chiari Institute? How long before you get your first appointment usually, once they initially review your case. Mine will be reviewed on Monday. Are they pretty timely with treatment and appointments or do they tend to drag things out over a long period of time? Just wondering what to expect I guess. I've been waiting so long already to find answers with my own doctor and now two weeks to hear from the Institute. Feeling very frustrated, in a lot of pain and not able to walk very well.
I am sorry you are having problems walking and you are in pain. Which Chiari Institute are you going to? They are all just Dr. offices that have Neurosurgeon's that treat Chiari and related disorders. I thought when I first learned about them they were a facility but that is not true. I was shocked. Did your Dr send you to a specific Neurosurgeon? The only reason I ask is because a lot of newly diagnosed Chiarians think they have to travel to a Chiari Institute to find a Chiari experienced Neurosurgeon when there might be one just as good and experienced in your same town or close to you. After a NS & their team reviews your records it usually doesn't take but a couple Do you have any CSF Blockage or have a significant herniation? That all plays in on treatment.
