Baclofen for muscle spasticity and flare ups

Hey guys, I just read a post on ASAP's facebook site. A woman posted about being on Baclofen as a muscle relaxer for the neck, shoulder tightness. It is used to help with spasticity of the muscles and to relax the muscle walls. I read that it helps cut down the "flare up" time. It always seems like when my muscles in my neck and shoulders are tight and sore, I get muscle spasms and all of my "Chiari" symptoms flare up. It has been so aggravating....literally!

I have been on Flexeril since my decompression in December of last year and it no longer helps. I was curious if anyone has tried this and if it helped? Someone also posted about another drug similar called Zanaflex.

BONUS: Baclofen is also used to help Trigeminal Neuralgia!

my cousin is on baclofen three times a day for her ms, it seem to help her, i just started taking chlorzoxazone for a muscle

relaxer

I took Baclofen, unfortunately it didn’t help me at all. The one plus is that it didn’t make me sleepy, so I could take it at work. But I don’t know if it didn’t make me sleepy because that’s how the medication is designed, or because it wasn’t working for me?

Baclofen is great, so is Klonipin & Valium. They are all muscle relaxers. Baclofen helps my upper Occipital area, Klonipin helps my lower Occipital area and neck. I use the Valium as needed for muscle stiffness. That's what they were developed for.
