Almost a week after Surgery update

Hi Everyone!
It's almost a week after surgery and I am doing great! The first couple days I wasn't very well, because I got so nauseased and kept throwing up. I think it was because they made me lay flat for 2 days.
I really didn't have much pain, it just felt like I had a really sore neck. I did have a pain pump so I used that a lot. They were really good about medicine, when I asked for it they got it for me.
About the third day, I got into my own clothes and able to walk around. Finally felt like a human again!
Thursday, I was walking around and finally eating. I didn't eat much but I ate enough to fill me.
They didn't cut much hair off, I was so surprised that they didn't.
I was able to go home late Friday, and happy to be home.

I am so happy I had surgery.. I really didn't have a bad experience like I hear other stories that make me cringe. My experience was great! Barley no pain and feeling better everyday!
Thank you everyone who has been their for me with the whole process!
St. Marys in Milwaukee was such a nice hospital, I had a great view. Right on the lake front..

Thank you all for praying! <3

You just made my heart soar. I was so nervous about my surgery until I read this. So glad to hear you're doing well.
Also, quick question...what is a pain pump?

Sydney I am ecstatic for you! Congrats on such a smooth first week!

(Suzie - a pain pump is when they give you a button to push to self-administer medication right into your IV. It's usually used for pain meds, hence the name : ) There's a limiter on it, of course, so you don't take more than the doctor thinks is good for you)

I had surgery at St. Mary's too in Milwaukee and my view was great. They are good people there. Who did your surgery? I am talking to my NS Dr. Heffez again because I may have tethered cord. Lower back pain that's not going away. I am glad you are doing okay. Do follow the Post-op instructions that they give you.

Sydney I am so Happy for you and your family !!!! Please keep letting us know how you are doing. You had such a intense pre surgical story you deserve a post op walk through the park.

Still remember to take it easy & to rest when you need to rest. Listen to your body !!!

We will still pray for you all. You have gained a huge Family through this all !!!

This is great news, Sydney. I've been cheering for you! Keep up the good work :)

ChiariPT and Sydney…sooo happy you are having a good post operative experience and praying it endures!

So happy to hear you are doing so well post surgery. My surgery is May 16th and is little nervous about it all. I pray that you will continue to improve. Let me know if you have any tips for me.

i’m having surgery at the end of may and reading this has made me feel better, i was worried about what happends after.

I hope my experience is as good as yours (I got in for my surgery on the 16). Glad you’re doing good!

What a blessing. Please keep us posted of your progress. I’m going into my 3rd week since my surgery and I feel like returning to work and going to the gym, but I’m following doctors orders.
