I’m 7 1/2 weeks post op and on Tuesday my incision opened and I had alit of drainage that felt like jelly. Gross right? Naturally I went to the ER and they did a phone consult with my Surgeon, because he is 6 hours away. They did an MRI to rule out a psuedo meningocele, and said no abcess. The called it a wound seroma and put me on an antibiotic and advised me to clean it twice a day and keep a bandage over it until I see my doctor on January 6th. Since then I have had minor headaches and neck stiffness. Has anyone experienced this??? Any advice??? I have done so good up to this point and hope this is nothing to worry about. Thanks for any comments and Happy New year!!~Melissa
I grew up in Arkansas, but live near Nashville TN now.
Hello Misallen, I hope that you are doing better. I had drainage about 5 weeks post op. I called my Dr and I was admitted back into the hospital, they was setting Me back up for surgery. But the Dr tried more sutures to see I’d that stopped the leakage( cs fluid) which it did I was so thankful because I didn’t want surgery again. My fluid was clear I had to keep those extra sutures 3 wks and they really hurt. Again I hope all is OK!

Thanks for the input. I see my surgeon Friday. The hospital here doesn’t do NS so I just wont feel like all is ok until I see Dr.Krisht. The MRI did not show a CSF leak, but I would feel better if they had tested the fluid draining to be sure I wasn’t CSF.
