Wexler Institute

Hello everyone!

I am new to all this and I am trying to figure out how all this works and how to live with these pains and all the aggravation that comes with them! I have been referred to a local neurosurgeon… well let’s just say where we live we call our Hospital and all affiliates to this said hospital “Death Valley” so I asked to be referred else where… they referred me to UTMC University of Toledo Medical Center in Ohio. My chiropractor who is the one who figured some of my issues out for me had to send me to an Orthopedic doctor for my neck pains she couldn’t fix… the Orthopedic doctor ordered the MRI and saw it then referred me to UTMC… I saw my Chiropractor yesterday (my Chiropractor and Orthopedic doctor all work in the same facility) and she said “no, you need to see a specialist that understands Chiari and what all it entails. I am more confident in the Wexler Institute in Columbus.” So now I am again waiting to hear from them to get scheduled with them…
Have any of you gone there or know anything about them? I am tired of waiting around for help and answers from my doctors here, I honestly feel like the only one that is trying to help me is my Chiropractor… she has been amazing, as soon as she found out my diagnosis, she went home that night and researched it to understand it better, and to help make sure I get to the right neurosurgeon. My PCP and Orthopedic just basically passed me off without much explanation! So, any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you all, and I am so glad to have found this community, I really would be lost without you all!

Do a search on Google for Chiari doctors. Go to one of them by choosing one by reviews that you’ read or possibly the one closet to you. Chiari doctors are much better versed about Chiari. Versus other be doctors.
