For years, I have noticed that I have had swelling in my arms....but not enough to be overly concerned. Recently as the Chiari symptoms have worsened, the swelling has gotten worse.
I have pitting edema in both upper extremities and I've noticed more swelling around my shoulders, neck, and face. I've been searching and searching online about this, but anytime I type in swelling...it always directs me to websites about post-op issues. : \
Has anyone noticed swelling like this prior to their decompression? (arms, neck, & face?)
I have swelling too my feet and sometimes my hands. I think it s a circulatory issue( the heart). Both my hands and feet are usually always ice cold and I have tachycardia often. My PCP doesnt want to do anything about it. I am thinking about getting a referral to a cardiologist. I had swelling before decompression plus a heart monitor and EKG.
I am currently dealing with the same issue. The NS says that it is not connected to Chiari. However, the issue always goes back into the back of my head and causes my ear to hurt. The bruising normally occurs directly where my neck connects to my shoulder and its normally the front large muscle of my neck that swells. It also rotates sides.
