HI EVERYONE MY SURGERY IS ON THE 9TH OF APRIL AND NOW IM VERY SCARED OF GOING I READ THE DISCUSSION IT MAID ME VERY NERVOUS ABOUT IT I HATE PAIN I HATE TO WAKE UP IN PAIN I HOPE I GET PAIN MEDS DO THEY PUT STAPLES OR STICHES IN BECAUSE I SAW ON YOUTUBE SOME PEOPLE HAS STAPLES I DONT LIKE SURGERY IM SCRED EVERYONE PLEAS HELP :((((((((

dolphinlove, hon, I know surgery can be intimidating. I have found that I can make my anxiety much, much worse by focusing on all the what if’s and the what may go wrongs. Anxiety feeds on fear. Have you discussed your surgery and your concerns about pain with your doctors? There are surely things they can do to help ease pain afterwards. And in the meantime try and do whatever makes you feel happy and will take your mind off of things like spending time with friends or going for walks or watching fun movies. And please remember you will also have this community to reach out to for support as well. We’re all here for you and will continue to be.

Hey there,
Everyone gets nervous. If you have a lot of questions about the surgery you should ask your surgeon, it might ease your mind.
The folks in the hospital will have you on pain meds when you wake up. After that you will get them every few hours. Buzz them if you have pain. You will be okay, lots of folks here have been right where you are now!

I am finishing up my last minute preparations for surgery tomorrow. While I had a lot of nervousness and anxiety when I first heard, I made sure to ask my surgeon a lot of questions, so I’m feeling more at ease now. Also, while its nice to know how everyone’s surgery went and what they experienced, you need to remember that your individual experience will be unlike anyone else’s. If the stories you are reading are adding to your anxiety, then you need to stay away from them.
