Well it looks like my surgery is 10 days away and I’m scared and excited. i had a bunch more tests run from my Nuero down here and a super extensive bunch at TCI. the mri showed Chiari 7-9 on both sides and with my downward physical progression my surgeon wants to go ahead and take care of this before years end. I met with two super nice doctors and I got that warm and fuzzy I was lookin for. I’ll let you know how I do, and thanks to all of you for your support.
Good Luck Robert!!! Please keep us posted. Take care!

we all know that Chiari affects each of us differently, a 1-2 might be terrible for some yet a 5-6 might not even bother you… what I have learned on this now 8 year journey is to not give up! thank you!

I wanted everyone to know that the list posted under resources is a god send. I was so nervous speaking with the surgeon that all I could do is hand him the list and hope he didn’t take offense. Well, not only did he NOT take offense he kept it and said he was going to direct his patients to this site. He was impressed by the list, by my research I had done and told me so. I was really happy with TCI and the staff, doctors and everyone involved so far. Surgery on Nov. 17th, wish me luck and a prayer. I’ll keep you all updated.
Hi Mindy!
I had my surgery on Nov. 17th. and am a little over a week post -op. I had my procedure done at TCI in Great Neck, NY. What a fantastic place, doctors and staff. How are you? I hope your experience was a good one. Let me know how your progress goes.

Hi everyone,
I had my surgery on Nov. 17th so I'm a bit over a week post-op. Everything went well and my doctor, nurses and staff at the hospitol were amazing. Met a lot of people with the Chiari or other brain disorders and related stuff. They help a lot of people there. So many happy faces. A few that were struggling but are hopeful. I'm having some really wierd sensations, emotions, and tastes. All in all I think sooo far things are looking good.

Bob,
Glad to hear you’re doing so well. My surgery got bumped to 11-22. I just came home from the hospital yesterday 11-26. I had a couple rough nights at the hospital. Dizziness and nausea were really bad. Now that I’m home the NS wants me walking and stuff but to not over do it. There is a fine line there I’m trying not to cross. I get really dizzy when i do to much though.
My mom is here helping me for a couple weeks. Hope your awesome progress continues.
