Support group update

WE as I posted some time ago I am working in starting a support group in my area. It has really started taking wings. Getting info from ASAP and it should be here in the next couple of days. Hospital is committing room and possible refreshment (working out whether group could make donation or the could do it pro bono).

I know most of here are on probably 2-3 times a week. Some of us daily if not multiple times daily. SO again I am asking for all input and help. I was thinking about an once a month meeting at first then seeing how the group progresses and what the wants and needs are. Any suggestions? Anyone in the Butler, PA area (north of Pittsburgh, PA for those who are not familiar with my area) who would like to help or maybe guide me in all of this or just help, really I know we are scattered across the globe help is help and GREATLY APPRECIATED. Just give me a holler or a note in the inbox.

Thanks again all for the prayers, support and understanding. I have needed it the past couple of days and like all you here you are BLESSINGS. From knowledge and sharing, to care, concern and compassion. You guys are the BEST.

Hope all is going well for all today. The day is starting to improve for me today, only if I could shake this nagging headache, LOL.

Hi Michael,

I am so proud of you. My PCP wants me to start a Spina Bifida Support Group in Richmond. The Spina Bifida Organization has quidelines you have to go by. I am not sure I am the right person, There are many different types of Spina Bifida and most are in wheel chairs & I look totally fine. Most Support Groups do meet once a Month and either take turns bringing refershments or they take up a collection. You can get lot of rooms free since you are a nonprofit organization. You have to apply with the state department of taxation to be a non -profit group. It's also easy to get guest speakers in the medical field that specialize in different areas. I used to be on the board of a ladies group that met monthly. You can also do fund raisers. This is so great. Maybe when I am in Pittsburgh next I can come to your Support Group. I think this is going to be very good for you!!!!
