SUPER dry skin?

My body is totally grossing me out at the moment. The newest "symptom" is these weird patches of dry skin. I usually get dry skin during the hot months but this is beyond ridiculous. It is worst in my scalp and eyebrows - quarter size or bigger patches that dry up and flake off. Now my forehead, nose, and cheeks are doing it (smaller patches, but they've never been affected before this). I've tried moisturizing my face but it only makes me break out, it doesn't touch the dryness at all.

Anyone else get dry patches? Any advice?

Thanks in advance,

Quasimodo, er, Katrina W.

For years I've had it around my t zone, nose, and parts of my ears. I also get it on my hands and arms. Not that big and bad but my dermatologist dosent seem to have any clue... I've been using Aquaphor and its been helping.

My neuro feels it part of my dysautonomia. He said it could also be neuropothy.

Wow, sounds like I'm not alone! That sucks, and is good to hear, all at once. ;D

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am going to see my PCP again next week - I'll bring it up with her and see what she suggests. She usually goes for the natural remedies before prescription anything so I'll ask about all your ideas!

Thanks everyone!
Katrina W.

Have you tried the oil cleansing method? Sounds crazy but it's basically washing your face with oil. It's good for both dry skin and acne. Google will pull up a lot of blogs with different formulas for your specific skin type. With the dry skin I would use mostly olive oil.
