I am 4 months post op and curious if others have had problems with their speech. Prior surgery, I had a few episodes where it was difficult to get my words out, and now find this to be true now as well. I know what I am trying to say, but I stammer and I just can’t get it out. Does anyone else had this experience?
Yes,I developed my speech problem year before surgery.My voice gets strained as well.i was sent to a speech pathologist and was diagnosed with dysarthria.Ataxic as well as spastic.It started as a stammer.I now have it moderate with 90 % accuracy in speech now?I sound like a deaf person when I speak now.Good luck to you.
Thanks for your input - I also notice that the speech problem worsens with fatigue, and can assume it is chiari caused. Something to look forward to if your symptoms got better over time.

Yes, I did experience those same issues with speech before and after my surgery. However, after about a year and a half after Decompression the speech has improved somewhat. However, I get slurred still with fatigue and it is often hard to get the words out. Processing is still hard with times of anxiety and fatigue.
