I had my decompression 7/11/14, now I find out that I am pregnant. Just wondering if anyone has gone through something similar and would welcome any advice. Thanks
You need to talk to your obgyn and your NS, they will let you know what needs to be doneā¦I have heard that sometimes when their is a pregnancy soon after surgery that the doctor prefer to do a
C-section,just put yourself in theis hands & in Gods hands and all will be fine!!
Good luck keep posting!!!
Thanks... Just nervous. I only did the home pregnancy test(s) Friday afternoon, so I haven't had the chance to talk to the doc's yet... Just made me freak out a little. And this baby is truly a blessing from God. I know that ultimately the divine physician is in control, and I trust in HIM with all that I am. I guess I just need a little earthly support from people that understand how chiari effects our lives. I guess some of it is the pregnancy hormones/emotional stuff too :-)
Thank you. I also had my first child before I knew about my chiari, but it was a very difficult pregnancy ending in an emergency C-section 2 months early. With my age, the fact that I just had surgery, etc... It scares the pants off of me. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled to be pregnant, just nervous. Also, the NS released me, so I will have to be extra vigilant
Thank you so much for the positive input.
Thanks. I am feeling better since surgery. My symptoms are slowly improving. The horrific daily headache is gone. Still having migraines, but not nearly as frequently. And I contacted my NS today... He said that I'm good to go from his standpoint for the pregnancy with no worries... Good news all the way around.
Congratulations momma!
